Bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to love and empower families of downtown Augusta to create a flourishing neighborhood

To see God being glorified through the families of downtown Augusta creating flourishing neighborhoods

Our History

In 2010, Hope for Augusta grew out of a bible study for children in the downtown Augusta neighborhood. Rick Keuroglian, one of the founders, and First Presbyterian Church recruited staff to build the organization with tutoring, mentorship and art program impacting students from grades K-12.

Stephen Pittman - Director, After School Programs

Stephen has been on staff with Hope for Augusta since August of 2011. He is from Carrollton, Georgia and graduated from Toccoa Falls College with a B.A. in Biblical Studies. He has a beautiful wife named Amy and 4 children (Caileigh, Emma, Connor, and Lilly). Stephen is passionate about seeing at-risk children and youth flourish in Christ, especially academically. For fun, Stephen likes to spend time with his family, read, and play guitar.

Candyn Turman - Associate Director

She is from Roswell, Georgia and graduated from Georgia Southern University with a B.A. in General Studies: Religion, Sociology and Sustainability. Candyn is passionate about getting to know the inner city students and families and living life-on-life with them, encouraging them and being a friend, as well as sharing the love of the Lord with them. For fun, Candyn likes to ride bikes, go to Hawks games, play basketball, and be adventurous.
